    The mouse NGF ELISA Kit is engineered for accurate measurement of mouse NGF levels from samples including serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It uses the Sandwich-ELISA mechanism in combination with the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to measure the NGF content in the sample. The color intensity is positively correlated with NGF content in the sample. The NGF concentration can be calculated according to the standard curve. This kit is tested with high sensitivity, strong specificity, good linearity, high precision and recovery, as well as lot-to-lot consistency.

    NGF is a neurotrophic protein essential for the growth, differentiation, and survival of sympathetic and sensory afferent neurons during development. NGF contributes to neuronal phenotype by regulating axonal guidance, gene transcription, neurotransmitter release, and synaptic plasticity. Engagement of its receptor, NGF plays a critical regulatory role in each phase of wound healing. NGF promotes the proliferation of fibroblasts and keratinocytes, expression and secretion of extracellular matrix components, and differentiation of angiogenesis and myofibroblast.

    Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. Extracellular ligand for the NTRK1 and NGFR receptors, activates cellular signaling cascades to regulate neuronal proliferation, differentiation and survival. The immature NGF precursor (proNGF) functions as ligand for the heterodimeric receptor formed by SORCS2 and NGFR, and activates cellular signaling cascades that lead to inactivation of RAC1 and/or RAC2, reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and neuronal growth cone collapse. In contrast to mature NGF, the precursor form (proNGF) promotes neuronal apoptosis (in vitro). Inhibits metalloproteinase-dependent proteolysis of platelet glycoprotein VI. Binds lysophosphatidylinositol and lysophosphatidylserine between the two chains of the homodimer. The lipid-bound form promotes histamine relase from mast cells, contrary to the lipid-free form.
