    The ELISA Kit is designed for quantitatively measuring human ADAM12 levels in samples, including serum, plasma, urine, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates, or cell lysates. It uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique in combination with the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to quantify the analyte in the sample. The color develops positively to the amount of ADAM12 in samples. The color intensity is measured at 450 nm via a microplate reader.

    ADAM12 belongs to the large family of ADAMs and has extracellular metalloprotease and cell-binding functions, as well as intracellular signaling capacities. ADAM12 participates in various biological processes such as signal transduction, cytoskeleton depolymerization, and micro-environmental regulation by binding and activating targeted proteins. It also plays a critical role in various types of cancers. ADAM12 is expressed at high levels in tumor tissues, and lower expression is linked to a better survival prognosis. Upregulation of ADAM12 has been detected in breast, prostate, ovarian, skin, stomach, lung, and brain cancers and can promote epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), metastasis, drug resistance, and cancer stemness maintenance in numerous malignant tumors.
